She did not, and would not enjoy the idea of battle whilst she was without her daggers. Of course she had a sword, but she was always better with daggers and knives. ‘Weapons’ from the galley would have to do for now and at least they wern’t as fragile.

“Let’s get this…

“Well, if you say so.” she smirked, admittedly forcing the humour. Being without her favourite weapons was bad enough but she was sure that, should this battle get far along enough to lead to boarding, she’d get tired - way too quickly. Still, there was no honour in ‘sitting this one out’.

She glanced up to the helmsman from her usual perch on the quarterdeck and gave him a knowing nod, before turning back down to the deck. She could see the ship firing on them now.
“Black an’ yellow sails! Let’s be rid of ‘em, aye? Fire!” she shouted the order, hearing it relayed down to the gunnery, and soon she could feel the Revenge firing on the Spanish ship. “Let’s just hope this is clean an’ quick. I cannae be arsed with the Navy boardin’ us, had hoped ta keep this ship in good condition fer a while.” she sighed to Scrum. “Then again it’s a pirate ship, not a dress. Ain’t meant t’look pretty.”

Well lets hope it don’t come te that love, ain’t much lookin’ forward to seeing their ugly mugs fer sure, not that it will stop me runnin’ me blade through em’ *Scrum nods to the crew to take their postions, just incase the enemy decide to board them, after the golem battle and the damage they took from the Raven fight, he is hoping that they might take minimal damage this time* Ave’ only just patched up all the bloody holes too

Nodding to the crewmember who’d swung over, Pep grimaced and waved him away.

*He steps beside Pep and grimaces as he watches the enemy ships approaching, there are three in total* Looks like we got company Pep, assuming they ain’t here te just say ello’ *He glances at pep and grins* Well then give em’ a fine pirate welcome shall we?

:( pep, scrum and mia need to do a group hug!

Sure do..squishy hugs!

Scrum kicks at the stones beneath his feet and shoves his hands in his pockets

He can hear the sound of revellers from the nearby bars but isn’t in the mood for other people right now, his mind is on other things. First there was Pep’s angry reaction to him trying to break up the fight He knew Pep had a temper but there were times when he grew tired of being her emotional punching bag, it wasn’t his fault that she had fallen out with Mia and all he did was try to help but she had dismissed him as if his opinion didn’t even matter and that upset him more than anything. And there was Mia’s talk of plagues and death and that had rattled him more than he cared to admit. She had said her father would cull all the mortals to sort out the weak from the strong and he strugggled to grasp what that even mean’t. He sat and opened a bottle of rum and took a swig and watched a man and a women walking past, he was singing to her and she held a single rose in her hand and was laughing, then she looped her arm around his and they staggered away and he his immediate thoughts were that they would both be dead soon and as others passed by he thought the same, all of them dead, he slumps his shoulders and stares out at the ships, he didn’t think even the rum would help with his worries tonight.

She grabs hold of the Trident with both hands and digs her nails into it and whips her head around and glares at Pep *Do not mock me Captain, that would not be wise right now and I doubt you would even believe me if I told you the real reason, needless to say it is in your best interests to…

Pep leaned back against the railings and kicked one foot out, crossing it over the other one at the ankle. She ran her tongue over her teeth, baring them in obvious agression.
“Yer tearin’ the arse out of it. You expect me ta just leave immediately fer no reason? Pointless panic? If ye’d said why maybe I’d be more open, but just demandin’ we leave, that don’t settle an’ then you’ve the nerve ta act like a child when I say it don’t settle. Grief don’t suit you Mia. If I’m ‘Captain’ ta you and not ‘Pep’ any more, I’ll start acting like the former rather than the latter with you. Deal wi’ it, princess.” she seethed. “But first, get that fuckin’ thing off my ship, else we’ll all be at the mercy of this terrible unmentionable thing urgin’ you ta get outtae here.”

Scrum is below decks when he hears the raised voices and he recognises them both, Uh oh, this aint good He hurries up the stairs to find Pep and Mia in some sort of standoff by the helm and both look really angry, he would rather not get on the bad side of either of them, He walks towards them both hands raised in a defensive manner tp protect his face from any blow that might come his way* Now then ladies, whats all this hollerin’ bout now? If ye two are at each others throats, then that ain’t good!

*Letting go of the Trident, she points an accusing finger at Pep and snarls ignoring Scrum completely* You are the spoilt brat here, just because I dare question your authority just once! and if you really want to know what will be coming our way then I will tell you my dearest Pep.  Plague, famine, flood and death and the streets will run red with blood and this city will be bought to its knees and if we are still here when it happens, then the consequences will be on your head!*She cackles and grabs hold of the trident again* I am guessing you are wishing I never told you now, so you could remain blissfully ignorant as normal

Sucking her teeth, Pep lurched forward, feeling a throbbing in her head.
“An’ how do you know this, Mia? You, yer so mixed up in all this bad stuff, an’ you ever wondered why the crew hate you? I was the only one who defended you from the start Mia, was the only one what cared about Butcher goin’ at you. Stuck by you longer than anyone else, lass. But I’m sick, Mia. I’m sick of all this. All the mystery, the disappearin’ and the magic an’ the talkin’ to yerself. I’ve had men who survived the fight die of their injuries ye know. I’ve gottae run this ship an’ that means keepin’ my authority in check and making sure everythin’ is attended to. If you wannae talk more about this, take that fuckin’ trident off this damn ship and we’ll talk when we’re sailin’ away from this plague ye’e just so happened ta be able to predict”

*He looks to Pep and then to Mia and sighs* Come on now, both of ye, we’ve all been through a lot in the last few weeks an’ of all the people to start hatin’ each other, it can’t be te two. Now whats it gonna take te sort this out huh?

*Mia leans her head against the trident and breathes heavily through her mouth, feeling she might vomit, she can feel the dark energies feeding off her anger and cramps in her stomach* I know because my father will be its catalyst and he told me to leave, he said it will be a culling of the mortals, to sort out the strong from the weak *she lets out a sob and grips the Trident even tighter* I know the crew despise me and I despise myself because I’m wrong, an abomination and sometime it is so hard to tell the differance between the darkness and the light and I know the darkness is winning right now and I’m so sorry for the men you lost, I’m so sorry, I grieve with thee *She hears a loud snap and the trident comes away in her hands, leaving the helm free and she stands there blinking in surprise.

Pep leaned back against the railings behind her and stared at Mia. There was still some residual anger in her, which was strange. The stress of the Raven attack was gone, but it seemed Pep could never be happy. She was always in a bad mood over something and now that she was in one, it was like her mind didn’t want to leave it. That, or she was too proud to apologise back to Mia, or say anything at all for a short while.
“Good. We can put our helmsman ta good use.” she crossed her arms, looking to Scrum “There, it’s sorted. What you standin’ there like that?” she nodded to his hands held up. “I’ve better things ta be doin’ than this. We’re movin’ inte the Captain’s cabin tonight, tomorrow at the latest. An’ then, as per Mia’s request we’ll be leavin’ as soon as the repairs are done and we’ve restocked on food, ammunition and crew.”

*He shoves his hands in his pockets, feeling a bit silly but slightly annoyed too at Pep’s sharpness towards him, as always he always found that he was the one who caught the backlash of her foul moods and disagreements with the crew and he huffs* Was just tryin’ te help love but its seems I ain’t needed, so ye can do what ye like, i gotta pick up some supplies of me own* and with that he turns on his heel and stomps off across the deck, trying not to think of plagues and streets filled with blood…gonna have nightmares tonight

In truth she was rather liking simply walking next to a man who didn’t smell as unwashed as all the others, and she did feel her toes curl ever so slightly at the thought of using the bath. If he was aware she was pregnant, perhaps he’d leave her alone. A bath was something Pep missed, after…

*Scrum is playing cards with some of the crew when he notices Pep and smartly dressed man arrive on deck, he cranes his neck to get a good look at the man and then recognises him as one of the two strange people who arrived out of nowhere and took Mia off the ship two nights ago along with Vincents body. Mia was yet to return as was the longboat and he wonders how the man got back on the Revenge at all and gets to his feet. The man is talking to her and not doing any work and Scrum is surprised to see that she isn’t chewing his ear off. He scowls slightly as the man seems to be giving Pep a lot of attention and is stood very close to her scuse me lads *he mutters and marches towards Pep and the stranger* evenin’ Pep, watcha doin? an’ whose this fella?

*Levi huffs at the interupption by the pirate but gives him a polite smile, hoping the man will go away and leave them both in peace, he isn’t done with the female yet and hopes to woo her some more and take her to his bed* Your captain is giving me a tour of the ship, my name is Leviathan and who might you be?

Sagging her shoulders a bit in relief as Scrum approached, she smiled, perhaps a little wider than usual and kissed him on the cheek.
“Hello there, haven’t seen you all day.” she smiled. Then, turning to Levi, “This is Scrum.” she gave levi a rather blank look as if she were deliberately holding back a smirk. This shouldn’t have been as fun to her as it felt. “The father of my child. Scrum, this is a friend of Mia’s, he’s the one who crew said they heard in one of the cabins.” she leaned in, lowering her voice “Dinnae let the rest of the crew know, but he’s all sorts of nice things in that damn room. Big bed, an’ a bath too…” she snickered, before standing up straight again and regaining her composure. “I think our guest’ll be stayin’ here a wee while longer, until Mia feels better.”

*He narrows his eyes and hisses at first and then throws back his head and laughs* ah Pep, you led me on like a lovestruck boy and there was me thinking I would take you to my bed tonight, such a pity *he gives her a bow and then winks at Scrum* You have a fine and fiesty female there Scrum but a loyal one *he then gives pep a toothy grin* maybe I will dispose of the bath afterall, so the men won’t get so jealous, I will have it thrown overboard Captain…

*Places his arm protectively around Pep and glowers at the stranger, dislikng him itensely* Ye keep yer fuckin’ eyes and hands off Pep yer slimy little shit or I will cut them off…an’ some other parts too, do ye understand me? Ye come on here in yer fancy fuckin’ clothes, thinkin’ yer better than us eh? Well ye are in fer a shock mister, we don’t like yer type on this ship, so go crawl back under the rock where ye slithered from *he is panting with anger and would quite easily run his sword through this arrogant creature if he could but it seems he thrives on attention so to ignore him would be the better action, he kisses Pep on the cheek and smiles at her* c’mon love, lets go fer a walk eh?
